"BFGI" undoubtedly The best Institution of Punjabi University: Dr. Jamshed Ali Khan

International conference of BFGI on the topic " crop productivity & sustainability- shaping the future " had marvelous finishing point with great achievements on 21st March 2014. The two days conference (20th & 21st ) was organized to solve the agricultural issues and provide extravagant knowledge to BFGI students for being employable and competent all around the world. The highly eminent roster of speakers and the guest of Honor for two days of the International conference constituted Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillion,Vice Chancellor, PAU, Ludhiana, Dr. Jamshed Ali Khan, Dean, College Development Council Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Shahzad Basra, Prof & Chairman, UAF, Pakistan, Dr. Abdul Wahid, Prof & Chairman, UAF, Pakistan & Dr. Zahid Ata Cheema, Prof retd., UAF, Pakistan. The expertise shared lucid and exceptional opinions and comprehension related to crop productivity and sustainability.  

In this two day expedition,  International conference has received received a huge numbers of proceeding out of which the best and unique selected ones are published in the proceeding book of conference. As far as numbers are concerned More than 300 proceeding were received by the institution from Pakistan & India including states like Mizoram, Karnataka, Maharashtra , West Bengal, NCR had presented in the 4 technical sessions including Advances in breeding for enhancing crop productivity, Innovations in cop production, Sustainable agriculture through natural resource conservation and Economically viable approaches for advancement in agriculture. These sessions were chaired by Dr. R.K. Gumber, Dr. R.C. Sharma, Dr. B.D. Sharma & Dr. R.K. Mahajan and Co-Chaired by Dr. Zahid Ata Cheema, Dr. J.S. Dhiman, Dr. S.S. Manhas and Dr. Farrukh Javed.

To shape up the students of BFGI about crop productivity & sustainability the panel of the experts, with delegates and students presented in the hall, had shared their opinions on the hottest issues of "Emerging techniques and solutions to increase crop production all around the world" in the two days of conference. The 2 hours of interesting sessions of interaction were held by the academicians, Industry Personnel, researchers and the students with the information to change and improve their own ideas and techniques.

Dr. Khem Singh Gill was the Chief Guest and key speaker of this conference who started it with lighting the lamp yesterday and spreading his rays of excellent knowledge among the students. This was one of the best ever conference that had happened as the students of BFGI has listened everything so patiently and carefully with full interest maintaining pin drop silence at the hall.

The second day of the magnificent expedition was started with the conference report by Dr. G.S. Mahal, Organizer Secretary who in this note thanked dignitaries for their great interaction and assured that it will inspire the young scientist of their institution. 

Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI said, " I assure BFGI students of each and every course with 100% placement with the educational model I am preparing where I will provide every facility under same platorm Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI which will be named as 'Green City' where students will be gain practical knowledge."

Dr. Wahid said that, " BFGI and other private institution are developing at a higher pace which is generation competition for government universities. "

The addressing note of the Dr. Jamshed was commendable as in his speech he said that " BFGI is the best institution and it is university within university with huge infrastructure where students are engaged in extra curricular activities as well."

The results of best and deserving candidates of poster making session were also announced by  by congratulating them for enhancing their talent so well.

 The delegates from the diverse countries also shared their views on their experiences of the conference talking about the conference they were overwhelmed to know that all the conferences of BFGI as self financed and thanked for all the arrangements of the management and praised a ton for their outstanding efforts and preparations for all the two days.

Mr. Kamran Delegate from Pakistan said, " I salute Mr. Dhaliwal and whole BFGI for conducting International conference being a private institution. I am amazed with the efforts made by BFGI for organizing it. I appreciate and thank Mr. Dhaliwal for their efforts of making it fruitful."

Conference winded up by honoring the delegates by giving the certificates and presents for spending their precious time and sharing the knowledge and experience with the students and staff of BFGI.

Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI and Dr. Dr. Pradeep Kaura thanked all the delegates and the distinguished guests for their dear presence in this International Conference. Baba Farid College of agriculture is such a revolutionary institution where scholarly activity and modernism are cherished and encouraged. This conference has been a grand accomplishment both in it's performance and impact. It has proved a milestone in the field of research in this region and it has set up a platform for triumph of conferences coming up in series. This is worth mentioning that BFGI will be spending up to 7 crores on the research in coming 3 years. the ratio might be 1 crore in 1st year, 2 crores in 2nd year and 4 crores in 3rd year.
