Bangalore, India, April 16, 2014: Foxconn, world’s leading manufacturer of computer components and systems, announced its cooperation with Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC) a China-based holding company of several Chinese automobile and machine manufacturers to develop new-energy batteries for electric cars. Foxconn is anticipating gaining advantages in China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market.
Foxconn has been trying to enter the automobile market. In addition to the acquisition of Antec International to enter the automotive wiring harness industry, the company is also supplying components and products for high-end car infotainment systems.
