Quote from Mr. Sridhar P S, SVP – Finance, Aspire Systems on Pre- Budget expectations:
We would like to see some clarification coming through for withholding taxes related to Technical Services provided outside India i.e. most onsite services of the IT industry. It should be taken out of the tax net, if rendered and delivered outside India. Currently there is a lot of ambiguity, despite several judgement and pronouncements.
Remove Retrospective Amendments clause u/s 9 and absolve cases which have been taken up post Vodafone case.
Initiate the GST implementation, or in the interim, bring a clarity on VAT/Service tax on software product items.
