Quote from Sushmita Das, VP – Business at Kobian Pte Ltd on Pre-Budget expectations:
Government should reduce the Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT) and Dividend Distribution Tax (DDT) applicable on Special Economic Zones to increase overseas shipments. We expect more focus on the infrastructure sectors. Transport and information technology is expected to receive a boost in the upcoming budget. Government should reduce Special Additional Duty (SAD) on computer components manufacturers, and this would promote manufacturing in the country.
