Startups & entrepreneurs get Rs 10,000 crore backing from Govt. This makes Govt one of the highest portfolio venture fund in India. This is very welcoming. This will encourage lot of budding entrepreneurs to realize their dream into reality – especially the cases where conventional VCs do not invest such as promoting work from local skillsmen and craftsman via technology and other unconventional start-ups. Given that Govt does not allow FDI in multi-branded Retail, this fund will be a good support to organize the fragmented retail market via technology start-ups similar to Voylla.com.
