EMC and ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu to train engineering graduates on skills for Cloud and Big Data

EMC-and-ICT-Academy-of-Tamil-NaduChennai, India, September 24, 2014: ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu today announced that it has tied-up with EMC to train and certify 10,000 graduating students with skills on Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) and Big Data Analytics during the current year. The training will be delivered to the students through the Train-The -Trainer model by training the faculty members from participating institutions.


Industry reports project that more than 50 percent of all information technology deployment will be in the cloud and big data analysis field within the next five to ten years with the emergence of Cloud Computing. Tomorrow’s IT organization—an IT as a Service organization—will present many challenges and opportunities. IT professionals will be responsible for more data than ever, derived from new sources and in new formats. They will need to not only build and maintain technology assets, but also orchestrate services to enable the business to consume them effectively in its operations, decisions, and innovations. This holds profound implications for both traditional and emerging IT roles and skills Based on this emergent Industry demand, ICTACT in collaboration with EMC has taken up this objective to not only train students, but also develop certified faculty members in the ICTACT Member colleges.


M Sivakumar, CEO of ICTACT said “ICT Academy is focused on developing advanced skills for teachers and students introducing them to emergent technologies like Cloud, Big Data, Analytics, Mobility etc., In partnership with EMC, the ICT Academy takes the Cloud skills among the academia in the state and aims to develop 10,000 cloud certified graduates in this year”.
