Apple’s foray into mobile wallets was inevitable given the ecosystem they control with their icloud. Whilst the details are not known on how the service will be implemented, in India, mobile wallets have not found too much traction due to lack of interoperability. You don’t necessarily transact with I-phone users only. This is an Android market with 91% of the market share. What this country needs is a simple device agnostic ecosystem to make and accept payments.
