Global Study by CA Technologies reveals huge potential for DevOps in Indian organizations

CA-Technologies-logoNew Delhi, India, February 16, 2015: CA Technologies has unveiled a new study titled, “DevOps: The Worst-Kept Secret to Winning in the Application Economy” that reveals that only 26% of Indian IT leaders have adopted DevOps and 52% intend to adopt the strategy in the next two years.


The study conducted by Vanson Bourne with 1,425 senior IT and business leaders worldwide highlights that the majority (86 to 96%) of respondents in India have either seen or expect to see business benefits from their DevOps efforts.


Commenting on the study findings, Sunil Manglore, Managing Director of CA Technologies India said, “With dynamic business environment and increasing customer demands, majority (70%)of Indian organizations plan to invest in training their development and operations personnel in the next 12 months. And nearly half the respondents (48%) will consider investing in new tools to upscale their capabilities.” 







In the application economy, 52% business leaders feel that the best way to measure the success of DevOps strategy lies in increased revenue, faster time to market, enhanced customer experience and improved competitive positioning.


Other key findings include: 


  • 53% of Indian IT leaders feel that the biggest driver for the need of DevOps is the need to improve the quality and performance of applications

  • Identifying the right consulting firm with a DevOps practice and security are two major obstacles (38% and 33% respectively), followed by difficulty to justify ROI (32%)

  • 30% feel that organizational complexity in terms of multiple departments is a major obstacle in the implementation of DevOps strategy.
