New Delhi, India, February 26, 2015: Qlik, a player in data discovery, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2015 Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform Magic Quadrant report. This designation marks the fifth consecutive year that Qlik has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. Gartner Magic Quadrants provide a snapshot of how vendors perform in a market segment with the goal of helping end users make better informed decisions about companies they may be looking to partner with, or whose services or products they may want to purchase. According to the report, “The transition is to platforms that can be rapidly implemented and can be used by either analysts and business users, to find insights quickly, or by IT to quickly build analytics content to meet business requirements to deliver more timely business benefits. Gartner estimates that more than half of net new purchasing is data-discovery-driven.” The report goes on to say that “This shift to a decentralized model that is empowering more business users also drives the need for a governed data discovery approach.”
“We’ve always been a disruptive force in the BI industry. There was a time that our data discovery offering was a visionary concept that the established vendors were trying to incorporate; now this shows that data discovery has set the standard for BI leadership,” said Lars Björk, Qlik chief executive officer. “As the pioneer in this market Qlik will continue to make bold moves in areas of self-service visualization and governance to redefine the market.”
Qlik is focused on the next transformation as the data discovery category matures to governed, user-driven creation. Qlik recently introduced general availability of Qlik Sense, the first device-independent, self-service visualization and discovery product engineered for enterprise-class governance and performance. Built on a modern architecture and powered by the patented, industry-proven Qlik data indexing engine, Qlik Sense gives users the unrestricted ability to create personalized data analyses and explore the relationships that exist in data to reveal connections instantly. Qlik Sense is designed to serve audiences equally without compromise: business users gain the intuitive experience they need, developers gain boundless possibilities for what they can create and IT gains centralized control for management and governance.
As enterprise data discovery momentum has increased, the need for Qlik customers to have the power of interactive and collaborative analytics in combination with automated reporting has grown. This month, Qlik announced its acquisition of Vizubi and its NPrinting product line, the market-leading report generation, distribution, and scheduling application for QlikView. With this acquisition, QlikView can now serve as a single platform for both guided analytics and reporting, allowing organizations to retire redundant BI solutions and save significant costs.
Over these years of continued innovation and changing the face of BI, Qlik maintains its commitment to become the de facto global standard for how people gain insight from their data. With Qlik’s patented core technology, associative experience, and collaboration and mobile capabilities, users can ask and answer streams of questions on their own or in teams and groups, wherever they happen to be working. Users can continue to explore information freely rather than being confined to a predefined path of questions and they gain rapid time to value in deployments that can be productive in just days or weeks.
