New Delhi, India, May 11, 2015: EMC Corporation today announced the launch of free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) titled- Data Lakes for Big Data. The course, an initiative by EMC Education Services, will run from May 12th to June 8th 2015. Expected time commitment during the 4 weeks is about 2-3 hours per week. Its goal is to deliver on knowledge development, thereby addressing the industry skill gap with respect to Big Data and analytics.
The rapid growth of the volume, variety and velocity/speed of the data is spurring the demand for trained data science and analytics professionals who possess the skills and knowledge relevant for the changing industry.
The open, online, interactive course is going to be ideal for a diverse audience that includes decision makers, influencers, line-of-business professionals; business intelligence, analytics and IT professionals; students, and anyone interested in learning about Data Science, Big Data Analytics, and EMC’s Data Lake Solution. Participants will be able to engage through a blend of online content including educational videos, recorded whiteboards, documents, and exercises during the four-week period.
Week 1 of the program is going to talk about the basics of Big Data and Data Science followed by the second week touching upon the value of Big Data and analytics. The next two weeks will discuss the Federation Business Data Lake and how is the Data Lake solution operationalized.
On successful completion of the course, the participants will earn a certificate of completion. In addition, 500 high scoring participants will receive an electronic copy of a recently published textbook on Data Science and Big Data Analytics.
